Rice mourn FE&P’s John Paul

Longtime Facilities Engineering and Planning (FE&P) staff member John Paul died May 14 after a long illness.

Paul, known to many on campus as “J.P.,” joined FE&P in December 1984 and worked in the plumbing shop.

“He was known for his kind smile, his deep love of the university and strong sense of commitment to customer service,” said Susann Glenn, FE&P manager of communications. “We will miss him dearly.”

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. May 26 at the Rice Memorial Chapel. A reception will follow in Sammy’s from 3 to 6 p.m.

His family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to HOOTS, an organization that Paul cared deeply about and gave much of his time to.
