Health screenings to be offered to employees March 21, 22 and 24

As part of the Healthy Rice, Healthy Life wellness program, Health Fitness will be on campus offering biometric screenings to all benefits-eligible faculty and staff. Employees must make an appointment to participate in the screenings, which will be March 21, 22 and 24 from 7 to 11 a.m. in Farnsworth Pavilion.

Wellness LogoAppointments can be made via the Rice University-Health Fitness Web portal by clicking on the “Screening” link via the To-Do list or by calling 877-916-5940 (select option No. 1). When logging on to the Healthy Rice, Healthy Life Web portal for the first time, you must register and create a user ID and password.

For accurate results, the biometric screening requires fasting. Health Fitness recommends no food or drink for at least eight hours prior to the screening, but employees may drink water and take required medication. They will receive screening results shortly after blood has been drawn via a finger-prick. Certified health specialists will be available to review results.

For additional questions on the screenings or fasting, contact Rosie Gonzalez, wellness manager, at rg43@rice.edu.
