Houston mayoral candidates to address issues at Rice U. forum

HOUSTON – (Oct. 2, 2019) – As the Houston mayoral race heats up, the leading candidates will take the stage to discuss issues facing voters at an Oct. 3 forum at Rice University.

Candidates Dwight Boykins, Tony Buzbee, Bill King, Sue Lovell and Mayor Sylvester Turner are scheduled to participate in the event. The forum will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Rice Memorial Center’s Grand Hall.

The forum is sponsored by Houston Millennials, Rice Multicultural Community Relations, Baker Institute Roundtable Young Professionals, Millennial Project X, NAHREP (National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals) Houston, Harris County Young Democrats, Harris County Young Republicans, Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals and Move Texas.

The event is open to the public. Members of the media are invited to interview the candidates in nearby Farnsworth Pavilion and mingle with attendees and candidates in the Grand Hall from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
