Rice Officials Review Access Policy

The first Rice employees on the scene of this
morning’s fire at the Rice Memorial Center provided fire fighters
immediate access to the building but were unable to open doors to
some interior rooms.

Very soon after that other Rice employees arrived at the scene
and provided fire fighters keys to open those doors.

In this case no harm was done by the short delay in providing
fire fighters access to a few rooms inside the RMC. This incident
has prompted us to review our access policy during non-business
hours.
