Purchasing Program Training Session Set
Rice has been participating in the Texas General Services Commission Cooperative
Purchasing Program (CPP) for more than a year. The CPP allows Rice to purchase
a wide array of goods and services through the Texas state purchasing contracts,
which usually have substantially lower prices than what Rice can normally negotiate.
All employees who buy items for Rice should be well educated in using the program
so Rice can obtain the maximum benefit. The Purchasing and Contracts Department
will present a refresher workshop to further this process. The workshop will
be suitable for people who have not made use of the program yet.
The workshop will be conducted twice in the Kyle Morrow Room in Fondren Library.
The workshop is set 2-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17. It will be repeated at 9:30-11
a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18.
Attendees should be familiar with the World Wide Web and the Netscape browser
since some of the material presented will be about using the program via the
Internet. Please call Deborah Hudson at (713) 527-8101, ext. 4755, if you plan
to attend.
Comedian A.J. Jamal will perform at 8 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Grand Hall of Rice
Memorial Center. For information call (713) 527-4096.
