Gary Hill to Discuss ‘Reflex Chamber’
Internationally renowned artist Gary Hill will discuss his exhibit "Gary
Hill: Reflex Chamber," on view through April 12 at the Rice University
Art Gallery, during a free gallery talk at 4 p.m. March 28.
In "Reflex Chamber," Hill uses video, sound and light to explore
the nature of vision and perception. This gallery presentation is Hill’s first
solo exhibition in the Southwest.
A reception for the artist will follow the talk and will feature the Bank Draft
Brewing Co.’s "Reflex Red Ale," named in honor of "Reflex Chamber."
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday (open until 8
p.m. on Thursdays) and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. The gallery is closed Mondays

‘Hard Times’ to Be Screened at Fondren
"Coming Through Hard Times," an oral-history video written, produced
and directed by Patsy Cravens, a Rice-area artist, writer and photographer,
will be featured during a special viewing at 7 p.m. March 30 in the Kyle Morrow
Room of Fondren Library.
For the production, Cravens enlisted the help of Rice professors Bob Patten,
Edward Cox, Lucie Fultz and Bill Camfield, who served as consultants, historians
and friends.
