Houston Mayor Lee Brown, former professor of sociology at Rice, spoke at the
Alumni College luncheon March 28 with remarks on crime and punishment, one of
the curriculum categories of the event. The fourth annual Alumni College was
held March 27-29 and offered participants the opportunity to learn from some
of Rice’s most outstanding faculty, including Nobel laureate Richard Smalley,
and Zenaido Camacho, vice president for Student Affairs.
