New Members of Faculty Council Elected

New members of the Faculty Council were elected in April. The newly elected
members will begin serving in the fall and complete their terms in the fall
of 2002. One position remaining will be filled by either an election in the
fall or a one-year appointment.
The new members on the Faculty Council and University Council are Edward Akin,
professor of mechanical engineering and materials science, who replaces Athanasios
Antoulas, professor of electrical and computer engineering, and Bala Dharan,
professor of the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management, who replaces
Walter Isle, professor of English.
The new members on the Faculty Council are Joan Rea, associate professor of
Hispanic and classical studies, replacing Joe Hightower, professor of chemical
engineering. No one was nominated to replace Kathleen Beckingham, professor
of biochemistry and cell biology.
