PARKS FOUNDATION BOLSTERS BAKER INSTITUTE ENDOWMENT
Houston attorney and Rice alumnus
Fred Parks has made a significant contribution to an endowment fund benefiting
the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy.
The Fred and Mabel Parks Foundation Endowed Fund now stands at
$300,000 with the recent contribution of more than $102,000 from the Parks
Foundation. The Parks started the fund in 1995 with a $100,000 contribution,
which was invested and had accumulated to more than $197,000.
The total contribution will be invested in the Rice University
endowment pool, with the value of the fund to benefit the Baker
Institute.
“Fred Parks’ generosity and support of the James A. Baker III
Institute for Public Policy is deeply appreciated. These funds will be used to
further the institute’s research projects and programs, and will help assure the
institute’s continuing contributions to public policy at the local, national and
international levels,” said Baker Institute Director Edward Djerejian.
