Building Named After Former Board Member

American General Corp. recently announced that the Liberty Tower, an office
building in the American General Center near downtown, has been renamed the
Woodson Tower in honor of Benjamin N. "Woody" Woodson, who succeeded
company founder Gus S. Wortham as the company’s second chairman and chief executive
officer from 1972-78.

Woodson’s community involvement includes serving as a member of the Rice University
Board of Governors and as a charter member of the Council of Overseers at the
Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management.

Rice News Begins Weekly Publication

With this issue, the Rice News resumes weekly publication. Copy deadline for
Calendar entries is noon on Wednesdays, eight days prior to publication. For
