NASA DIRECTOR TO DISCUSS ‘TOOLS OF THE FUTURE’ ON OCT.

Daniel Goldin, director of NASA,
will present a lecture at Rice University on Oct. 14 as part of the President’s
Lecture Series.
His lecture, titled “Tools of the Future: A Revolution in
Engineering” is scheduled for 8 p.m. in the Grand Hall, Rice Memorial
Center.
Goldin became director of the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration in 1992. Among his initiatives are the Discovery Program to
create a new class of planetary probes, repair of the Hubble Space Telescope and
redesign of the Space Station program.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Seating will begin
at 7 p.m.
To get to the Rice Memorial Center (RMC), enter either Entrance
8 off of University Boulevard or Entrance 13 off of Rice Boulevard. Parking is
available directly across from the center and in nearby lots. Additional parking
is available in the stadium lot. A shuttle bus will run between the stadium and
the RMC from 7-9:30 p.m.
