in the lobby of the Grand Hall, Rice Memorial Center. Faculty,
staff and students are encouraged to pick up literature and

Check out new emergency phone
A new emergency phone has been installed
on the northwest side of the Humanities Building. The phone
has a lighted face with a blue light on top of its case.
The light will strobe when activated by a push-button on
the phone face. Its features also allow it to be used by
the hearing impaired.
Rice University Police Chief Bill Taylor encourages faculty,
staff and students to check out the phone and contact him
with responses at <wtaylor@rice.edu>. If it is well-received,
six more will be ordered for the campus.
