to examine future of travel industry at Jones School Sept.

Jeffrey M. Jackson,
executive vice president and chief financial officer of
Sabre Holdings Corp., will speak at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate
School of Management’s Dean’s Lecture Series Monday,
Sept. 17, at Rice University.

For more than
40 years, Dallas/Fort Worth-based Sabre has been developing
innovations and transforming the business of travel. Today,
as a $2.6 billion company, Sabre continues to be the leading
provider of technology, distribution and marketing services
for the travel industry.

Jackson will
speak about the future of the travel industry and the direction
Sabre is taking to stay up to speed with the industry’s
changes.

The lecture
will be held from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m in Room 124 Herring
Hall.

Jackson is responsible
for financial reporting for the company’s lines of
business: travel marketing and distribution, airline solutions/emerging
businesses and GetThere. He also sits on the board of directors
of Travelocity.com. He plays a leadership role in mergers
and acquisitions, investor relations, corporate accounting,
treasury, strategic planning, tax and audit areas. Jackson
joined Sabre as senior vice president and CFO in August
1998.

Jackson began
his career with American Airlines in 1984 as a senior financial
analyst in the corporate finance department. He then served
as vice president of corporate development and treasurer
before becoming vice president and controller.

Jackson holds
a master’s degree in management from Northwestern University
and a bachelor’s degree in economics/government from
Dartmouth College.

The Dean’s
Lecture Series brings prominent business leaders to talk
with students at formal presentations, followed by informal
receptions. Past speakers at the lecture series include
Jim Turley, global chairman of Ernst & Young; Keith
Bailey, chairman, president and CEO of Williams Co.; Douglas
Daft, chairman and CEO, Coca-Cola Co.; Michael Bloomberg,
founder and president, Bloomberg Financial Services; and
Michael Capellas, president and CEO, Compaq Computer Corp.
