Book sale offers topics and titles galore

Where can you get hardbacks for $2 and paperbacks for 50 cents?
At the Friends of Fondren Librarys book sale Oct. 26-28 in the Grand Hall of Rice Memorial Center.
The sale will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday of that weekend, but Rice faculty and staff and members of Friends of Fondren Library can get first dibs Friday, Oct. 26, during an exclusive preview sale from 5 to 9 p.m.
Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, mysteries, cookbooks, childrens books, science fiction, music scores, hobby and gardening books and first editions are among the sale items. Special collections include books on architecture and style, as well as books in German from the Goethe-Institut. The $2 price does not apply to better books, which will be individually priced.
The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 and from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 28.
