Reception to honor HISD collaborations

The evening’s special guest will be Kaye Stripling,
superintendent of schools for HISD. She and Gillis will
speak about the distinguished history of collaboration between
HISD and Rice, and they will discuss their vision of how
the institutions will work together in the future to educate
both students and teachers.

The program is to begin at 5 p.m. in McMurtry Auditorium,
Anne and Charles Duncan Hall. The program also will feature
a question-and-answer session with Richard Tapia, the Noah
Harding Professor of Computational and Applied Mathematics
and director of Rice’s Center for Excellence and Equity
in Education. A reception from 6 to 7 p.m. will follow in
Martel Hall.
