Friday, April 19, through Sunday, April 21, from 9 a.m.
to 7 p.m.
Houston is one of the 22 U.S. cities to be visited by Access
EXPO to highlight the dearth of essential medicines in developing
countries. Experienced MSF aid workers will be on hand to
teach visitors why millions die each year from treatable
diseases like malaria, kala azar, tuberculosis, sleeping
sickness and HIV/AIDS.
Upon entering the interactive exhibit, visitors will spin
a Wheel of Misfortune and be assigned one of
these five diseases. They will learn about the symptoms
of the diseases and the people most afflicted by them and
be given a diagnosis for the disease, including
their chances of access to treatment.
To visit Access EXPO enter the Rice University campus at
entrance 8 off University Boulevard. The exhibit is near
the Southeast gate in the Rice Stadium parking lot.
