meeting set for April 26

KTRH will broadcast a town hall meeting about the Middle
East live from the James A. Baker III Institute for Public
Policy from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 26. ABC News veteran
Sam Donaldson will be the host. Rice students, faculty and
staff who want to attend can call (713) 630-3657 to find
out whether seats are still available.
Cisneros to
be featured speaker at RDA lecture

Henry Cisneros,
former secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development, is to present a lecture at 7:30 p.m. May 1
as part of Houston Talks, a collaborative program
between the Rice Design Alliance (RDA), Rices School
of Architecture and the University of Houston Gerald D.
Hines College of Architecture. The lecture, to be held in
the Brown Auditorium of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston,
is free and open to the public.
Cisneros currently is chairman and chief executive officer
of American CityVista, whose focus is to build homes in
the central neighorhoods of major metropolitan areas.
As a member of President Clintons cabinet from 1993
to 1997, Cisneros initiated a major revitalization of many
of the nations public housing developments.
Houston Talks features renowned architects and
city planners who have been invited to give public lectures
and share their work and experience with fellow architects,
planners, students and the general public.
