Fall RAD clases
scheduled

…………………………………………………………………

The Rice University
Police Department has scheduled its fall series of Rape
Aggression Defense (RAD) classes.

All female students,
staff, faculty and female dependents can take the course
free of charge. Three series of classes are being offered
for this proactive approach to personal safety and confrontational
avoidance:

• Sept.
30-Oct. 9, 5:30- 8:30 p.m.
• Nov. 5-15, 6-9 p.m.
• Dec. 2-11, 6-9 p.m.

RAD teaches
viable options for women who are attacked and provides the
tools to recognize and avoid hazardous situations. Lectures
and training culminate with a series of attack simulations
in which students are able to apply the RAD techniques.

Also offered
are two series of RAD keychain defense option classes, which
combine the RAD basic physical defense techniques with the
option to use a light impact weapon for defense. Completion
of the basic RAD class is a prerequisite. These classes
are:
• Sept. 28, 8 a.m.-noon
• Oct. 5, 8 a.m.-noon

To register
or for more information, call the police department at (713)
