A memorial service honoring the late John Margrave, the E.D. Butcher Professor of Chemistry, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 5501 South Main St. Margrave died Dec. 18 of complications following surgery.

Health, Wellness Center grand opening

The Student Health and Wellness Center is celebrating its new home with a grand opening ceremony at 11 a.m. Jan. 23.

Members of the Rice community are invited to see the new facility, meet the Wellness Center staff and therapists and take advantage of health screenings to be offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A reception will follow the ceremony (R.S.V.P. to 713-348-5194 or wellness@rice.edu ).

Attendees can enjoy free food and drink from Pappas Catering and get a free
T-shirt. Those who ride a Rice shuttle can receive a raffle ticket to win one of several prizes.

Rockets host ‘College Night’ Jan. 28

Rice faculty, staff, students and alumni can take in a Houston Rockets game at a discount during ”College Night” at the Toyota Center Jan. 28.

The Rockets will take on the Sacramento Kings at 8 p.m.
