Christian Holmes , executive director of the Environmental and Energy Systems Institute, delivered a presentation Feb. 3 to the U.S. environmental health and safety professionals of Chevron Phillips regarding sustainability and the energy business. Holmes participated on an ABA environmental panel in San Antonio Feb. 6, delivering a presentation on the work of the Shell Center for Sustainability.

Jordan Konisky ,vice provost for research and graduate studies, has been elected to the 12-member Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) Board of Directors. CGS is an association of more than 450 institutions of higher education engaged in graduate education, research, scholarship and the preparation of candidates for advanced degrees.

Artwork by John O’Neil , professor emeritus of art, is being featured in a traveling art exhibit titled ”Coming Home: American Paintings, 1930-1950 from the Schoen Collection.” This exhibition of 128 paintings from an important Southern collection reveals a panorama of American experiences from the Depression Era and World War II.

Stephen A. Zeff , the Herbert S. Autrey Professor of Accounting in the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management, gave a seminar Jan. 21 at the University of Bologna, Italy, on the current confrontation on international accounting standards. Zeff counseled the accounting faculty of the University of Economics, Prague, on the planning for the Congress of the European Accounting Association Jan. 23.
