Proceeds from the sale of the calendars will be used for travel scholarships for future Rice students participating in Rice’s international programs.
The 2005 calendars, which cost $8.50, feature 12 student photographs and come with a jewel-case easel. Also available are notecards featuring student photography. A pack of 8 cards and envelopes is $8.50.

Correction
In an article announcing Rice’s Yildiz Bayazitoglu’s receipt of the 2004 Heat Transfer Memorial Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Rice News neglected to report that Bayazitoglu is the first woman ever to win the prestigious honor, which has been bestowed to fewer than 90 people in the past 45 years.
Bayazitoglu, the Harry S. Cameron Professor in Mechanical Engineering, was recognized for contributions to fundamental radiative heat transfer, thermal effects in materials processing and microscale heat transfer; for leadership in engineering education; and for outstanding service to the heat transfer community.
Rice News regrets the omission.
