Space still available for children’s music classes at Shepherd School
Registration is still open for summer music classes for children ages 7-9. The class will run June 26-30.
Taught by Shepherd School of Music’s Young Children’s Division instructors, the classes will educate with an international assortment of instruments and music.

Blood-drive results are in
The semi-annual campus blood drive held in March generated 220 units of blood. The Gulf Coast Blood Center estimates that Rice students, faculty and staff donors have saved more than 2,000 lives with their donations at blood drives held since August 2005.
All nine residential colleges and the Graduate Student Association participated in the March blood drive. Generating the most units at its individual drive, Baker College will receive a cash prize of $125 and a plaque of congratulations.

MBA team conquers competition
“Team Magnolia,” made up of four members of the Class of 2006 from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management, secured first place at the inaugural Goizueta Principled Leadership Case Competition at Emory University.
MBA students Devina Bhojwani, Neal Carlson, Julian Duncan and Louisa Keyes also received the People’s Choice Award from their peers for the best presentation.
RUPD hopes to raise money in torch run for Special Olympics
For the seventh year, Rice University Police Department (RUPD) is participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
This year, RUPD is hoping to collect one mile of quarters, which is 63,360 quarters and equals $15,840.
Donation containers are located in colleges, the bookstore, 13th Street and Sammy’s. Donations do not have to be in the form of quarters.
RUPD will host a fundraiser at Willy’s Pub April 22. Tickets will cost $5.
T-shirts are available for $10 at the police department.
