The Baker Institute Student Forum will host a panel discussion Friday, Nov. 3, titled “Interrogation and Detention in Wartime: Legal and Military Perspectives.”

The panel will feature John Yoo, the former U.S. deputy assistant attorney general during President George W. Bush’s first term; Donald Goldstein, author and international security expert; and Jordan Paust, international and military law scholar and a professor at the University of Houston Law School.

Yoo was a key architect of the Bush administration’s legal strategy following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The discussion will be held at 4 p.m. in James A. Baker III Hall. It will be followed by a reception at which Yoo will sign his new book, “War by Other Means.”

Rice faculty, staff and students are welcome. For more information, visit <www.bakerinstitute.org/studentforum>.
