GAME TIME
With more than 5,000 games, Associate Dean in the George R. Brown School of Engineering Tony Elam has amassed possibly the largest collection in the Lone Star State. A new book, published in October, features pictures of more than 100 of the games from this vast collection.
”Celebrating Board Games” by Nina Chertoff and Susan Kahn is a ”nostalgic pictorial celebration of board games that will transport readers back to a simpler time, when child’s play didn’t involve video games or computer screens of any kind.”
Among the photographs are boards and various pieces from, among others, Animal Crackers (1883), Across the Continent (1888), Clue (1950) and the ever-popular Candyland (1938).
