Rice to accept online payments for tuition

Rice University students now can go online — rather than stand in line or mail a check — to pay tuition and fees.
Beginning in December, students can log in to Esther (http://esther.rice.edu) and pick their pay path: by electronic check or by credit or debit card.
These new options will enable students to pay their tuition or other charges from anywhere they have access to the Internet and at any time of day and to receive immediate credit on their student account.
Payment by e-check is a free, simple, secure service that allows remittance from any checking or savings account by filling out an online form as if writing a check.
Payment by MasterCard, Discover and American Express through the TouchNet PayPath service will incur a convenience fee of 2.75 percent. Students simply fill out the online form in Esther with the credit or debit card information.
