Foyle replaced Darrow Zeidenstein, who became vice president for resource development. Both appointments became effective July 1.
Foyle is responsible for day-to-day operations of individual fundraising programs as Rice prepares for a comprehensive campaign. He also oversees various departments within development, including gift planning, major gifts, annual giving, development events, research and constituent relations.
“We are in an extremely important and unique time in the university’s history,” Foyle said. “We have the opportunity to reach out to our communities for support of the many initiatives being developed as a result of the conversations around the Vision for the Second Century.”
Foyle joined Rice in 2000 from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he served as associate director of development. Having raised funds nationwide for the institution’s comprehensive $351 million campaign, Foyle said he has enjoyed expanding his fund-raising activities to Europe and Asia.
“Kevin Foyle is that rarest of rare birds in development; a focused and strategic fundraiser who is also an incredible manager of people,” said Zeidenstein. “Kevin’s promotion to associate vice president will enable him to exercise both of these talents in equal measure to the direct benefit of Rice’s fundraising program. Rice University is fortunate to have him in this leadership position.”
A graduate of Trinity University, with master’s of business administration from University of Houston-Clear Lake, Foyle has two children. He revels in their company, including visits to the Rice Art Gallery, attending football games and the annual Easter egg hunt, or just wandering the halls of the Greenbriar Building, making new friends along the way.
