| Houston was deluged Thursday by the remnants of Tropical Storm Erin, and the Rice campus was no exception. Rice’s Crisis Management Team implemented its new emergency-alert system to notify faculty and staff via phone and e-mail about the flooding in the area and to advise them not to use their cars until the water level subsided. No casualties were reported, other than some stalled cars, and business returned to normal on Friday as the campus prepared to welcome new students and their families for O-Week. | |
