Run, walk for breast cancer

The Rice Women’s Resource Center has formed a team for the 17th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Oct. 6. Held in downtown Houston, the race begins at 7:45 a.m. and features competitive and noncompetitive 5K runs, a 5K walk and a half-mile family walk. Rice faculty, staff and students are invited to join the Rice team or support it financially via www.komen-houston.org.

The race benefits the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, which supports effort to advance breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

Registration ranges from $15 to $50, and the Women’s Resource Center will subsidize student registration by $5. Contact Heather Masden at hmasden@rice.edu for details.
