Entrepreneur magazine ranks Rice among top 25

In a survey just released by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review, Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management was ranked 22nd among top graduate entrepreneurship programs in the U.S.
 
The fifth annual ranking surveyed more than 900 schools, revealing the nation’s top 25 undergraduate and top 25 graduate programs for entrepreneurship. The survey was based on key criteria in the areas of academics and requirements, students and faculty, and outside-the-classroom support and experiences.
 
”The Jones Graduate School is thrilled to receive this level of recognition as being the best in Texas and 22nd overall among top graduate programs in entrepreneurship,” said Bill Glick, dean of the Jones Graduate School.
 
”This achievement captures the exceptional entrepreneurial spirit of our students, alumni and faculty of the Jones Graduate School as well as the contributions of Rice and the Houston business community.”
 
Just recently, the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, a strategic alliance among academic institutions at Rice, including the Jones Graduate School, the George R. Brown School of Engineering and the Wiess School of Natural Sciences, was recognized as the top university entrepreneurship center in the U.S. for the creation of successful new enterprises. The Jones School and the Rice Alliance are also credited to hosting the largest and richest intercollegiate MBA/graduate-level business plan competition in the world, the annual Rice Business Plan Competition.
 
To better serve the growing demands of an entrepreneurial focus in business education, the Jones School soon will offer a concentration in entrepreneurship in its full-time MBA program ”and further the mission of the Jones School, to excel in developing principled, innovative thought leaders in global communities.” Glick added.
 
The results of the survey, along with the analysis, will appear in the November issue of Entrepreneur.
