Donations needed for food drive

The Staff Advisory Committee, women’s soccer team and Community Involvement Center will sponsor a food drive Nov. 2-9 for the City Wide Club of America’s Annual Food Drive. The City Wide Club hosts the Annual Big Feast of Sharing at the George R. Brown Convention Center on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

The kickoff for the food drive takes place at the final Friday game of   the season for the Rice Owls women’s soccer team at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Rice Soccer Stadium. 

The women will face Colorado College to defend their season-long unbeaten home streak. They adopted the game theme “CAN Colorado College!” to support the food drive. All fans are asked to bring nonperishable food items and deposit them in collection boxes at the stadium gate. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 100 fans.

Collection boxes will be set up Nov. 5-9 in Allen Center, Humanities Building, Housing and Dining offices, Rayzor Hall and Ley Student Center.

All nonperishable food will be accepted at the soccer game and collection boxes, but the following items are most needed:
