RUPD Chief Taylor elected president of TACUPA

BILL TAYLOR

Bill Taylor, chief of the Rice University Police Department, was elected president of the Texas Association of College and University Police Administrators (TACUPA) at the association’s annual conference this month in Fort Worth.

TACUPA’s mission is to educate, train and serve its members and improve the quality of the educational experience by building relationships to maintain order, resolve problems and enhance personal and property safety in a lawful manner.  Taylor will carry out this mission by providing leadership to the association’s 50 members.

His one-year term will expire next December, when Rice and the University of Houston co-host TACUPA’s 2008 annual conference.
