Construction update
As Brochstein Pavilion nears completion, the construction site will be expanded to allow for installation of utilities, new sidewalks, irrigation, landscaping and grading.
The area to be expanded will extend the construction fencing on the east to the sidewalk adjacent to Alumni Drive. The north-south extent of the fencing will run between the existing sidewalks that run east to west. As a result, the sidewalks by Alumni Drive, the RMC and north of Herring Hall will form the new fenced-in area, along with the existing contractor fence.
The new fencing is scheduled to be installed Jan. 21 and will remain in place until the end of March. The existing temporary north-south decomposed granite walk connecting the RMC and Herring Hall will remain in place until Jan. 25. Alternate north-south routing will allow students to use the sidewalk along Alumni Drive and at the west side of Fondren Library. Signage will be placed on the fencing to notify students of alternate routes.
