IBB hosts spring lecture series

Experts in biotechnology and entrepreneurship are among the speakers lined up for the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering’s Spring 2008 National Institutes of Health Biotechnology Luncheon Lecture Series, cosponsored by the Jones School Biotechnology and Health Care Club.

Speakers and the dates of their presentations are listed below. All lectures begin at 12 p.m. at the Anderson Family Commons in Janice and Robert McNair Hall. The lectures are free and open to the public, and a catered lunch by The French Corner will be served at 11:45 a.m. to all lecture attendees.

Feb. 19
Leo Linbeck, adjunct professor in the practice of management.

March 11
Brian Phillips, biological sciences licensing associate of technology transfer.

March 18
Ioannis Kakadiaris, director of the Computational and Biomedicine Lab and the Eckhard Pheiffer Professor of Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston. This lecture is also cosponsored by the Ken Kennedy Institute for Information Technology.

March 25
Will Rosellini, founder and interim chief executive officer of MicroTransponder Inc.
