Engineering Week Student Competition

More than 100 students competed for a first-place prize of $300 Feb. 20 in the 2008 Engineering Week Student Competition. Sponsored by the Rice Global E&C Forum, Fluor Corporation and the George R. Brown School of Engineering, the competition challenged 39 teams to rapidly conceive, design and build a device to toss a Ping-Pong ball over a specified distance into a cup using only the materials provided.
