Discussing scholarly publishing in the Digital Age
Digital Discovery 2008: Issues in Scholarly Publishing, a conference jointly organized by the Houston Academy of Medicine-Texas Medical Center Library and Rice’s Fondren Library, will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. March 27 at the University of Texas School of Nursing at Houston. This conference will feature a series of speakers and a panel session on current issues in scholarly communication, publishing and data discovery. Participating in the conference will be leaders in scholarly communications, including Rice’s Richard Baraniuk, the Victor E. Cameron Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering and founder of Connexions; Geneva Henry, executive director of the Digital Library Initiative; Debra Kolah, science reference/collection development librarian; and Sara Lowman, vice provost and university librarian.
