The James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy’s Web site has been honored as a Webby Honoree, an annual award presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Out of nearly 10,000 entries submitted to the 12th annual Webby Awards, less than 15 percent are deemed “official honorees.”
The designation specifically recognizes “Sputnik: A 50-Year Legacy.” A link to the webcast is available at www.bakerinstitute.org/events/looking-back-the-impact-of-sputnik.
“We are particularly pleased to receive this citation for the Sputnik film, our very first original Baker Institute production,” said Flora Moon, the director of strategic and new media at the Baker Institute. “The award is a validation of the Web’s viability as a channel for policy advocacy and analysis.”
Moon added that special recognition should go to the team that worked on the Sputnik film: George Abbey, the Baker Botts Senior Fellow in Space Policy; Janet Benton, senior producer; Damian Falcon, studio engineer; Kevin Young, AV technician; Hillary Harmon, editor; Sonja Fulbright, graphic designer; and Fabian Salz, video editor.
