IBB awards 2008 Medical Innovation grants

The Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering (IBB) has announced the recipients of its 2008 Medical Innovation Awards, a program begun in 2007 to foster new research collaborations between Rice faculty and researchers within the Texas Medical Center.

“This program represents Rice’s commitment to enhancing interactions with our partner institutions in the Texas Medical Center in order to expand research at the cutting edge of science and technology, where transformative discoveries can dramatically impact medicine,” said Jennifer West, the Isabel C. Cameron Professor of Bioengineering, professor in chemical and biomolecular engineering and director of IBB.
The Medical Award Innovation program is funded by a grant from the Sid W. Richardson Foundation. The 2008 Medical Innovation Award winners will be formally recognized at the fourth annual IBB Symposium June 18.
