MEMS’ Yakobson wins DOE award for hydrogen research

Boris Yakobson, professor of mechanical engineering and materials science, was awarded the Department of Energy’s DOE Hydrogen Program R&D Award at the program’s annual merit review June 9 in recognition of “outstanding contributions to hydrogen storage technologies.” The award followed new research on how hydrogen bonds with graphene — research that could lead to improved hydrogen storage.
