Rojo to direct Pan-American Advanced Studies Institute

With support from the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy, Rice faculty member Javier Rojo is planning a monthlong 2009 summer institute that will bring together 45 top young researchers from Costa Rica, Mexico, Uruguay and the United States to address cutting-edge topics in theoretical statistics, genetics and bioinformatics.
