Mail-training classes available
Delivery Services is offering two mail-training classes. Both classes will be held in Miner Lounge in the Ley Student Center
The first class, “Basic Mail,” is scheduled for Sept. 4 from 2 to 3 p.m. Subjects to be covered include all things related to handling mail, how to navigate the United States Postal Service Web site, how to prepare FedEx shipments online and an overview of other assistance available from Rice Delivery Services.
The second class, “Move Update and Flat-Mail Addressing Placement,” is scheduled for Sept. 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. The class will cover matters related to mail learned the previous day, but will go into more detail about address quality and how to prepare for the Postal Service’s new move-update standards, which take effect Nov. 23, and flat-mail address standards, which go into effect March 29, 2009. This class is a must-attend for those who prepare bulk mailings, design mail pieces and maintain databases.
