New shuttle route goes to Graduate, Rice Village apartments

FROM RICE NEWS STAFF REPORTS

Students, staff and faculty who need to get to and from off-campus graduate student housing or the Village have a new shuttle option: the Graduate Route, which serves the Rice Village Apartments, 2410 Shakespeare, and the Graduate Apartments, 1515 Bissonnet, and makes a stop at Morningside and University.

The shuttle from the Graduate Apartments will travel Laboratory Road on the Inner Loop en route to the apartments on Shakespeare. On return from the Rice Village Apartments, the shuttle will come through campus along College Way. (Download a PDF of the map.)

Shuttles run every 30 minutes Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The service operates year-round.

On weekdays, staff, faculty and students can use the service to go to the Rice Village. On-campus passengers can catch the bus at the stops on Laboratory Road on the Inner Loop. In the Village, passengers can get off or on shuttles at the corner of Morningside Drive and University Boulevard.

On Friday evenings, the operating hours of the Graduate Route are extended until 12:30 a.m. Passengers returning to campus can catch the bus from the Rice Village at University Boulevard and Morningside Drive until 10:30 p.m. After 10:30, the bus runs on Kelvin Drive, so passengers must catch the shuttle at University Boulevard and Kelvin or at the corner of Kelvin and Rice Boulevard (near Kinko’s).
