Walls are tumbling down at Baker and Will Rice colleges as the South Colleges renovations and additions project moves full-steam ahead.

The Baker College kitchen and servery have been demolished to the top of the first-floor slab. The ’55 wing of Will Rice College is undergoing full demolition. Decorative limestone and other materials have been salvaged from both buildings.

The final project, expected to be complete for the fall 2010 semester, will have Baker and Will Rice each sporting a new bed tower, adding a total of 82 beds to the south colleges.
