Rice has multiple connections to an upcoming local production of “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.”

Alumni Tamara Siler ’86 and Bryce Eakin ’08 are among the cast in this musical romp about Texas’ most famous brothel, the Chicken Ranch. Alumnus Peter Masterson ’57 co-wrote the play, which pokes fun at television reporter Melvin P. Thorpe — based on the late Marvin Zindler of Houston’s KTRK-TV — and his anti-prostitution crusade.
