FROM RICE NEWS STAFF REPORTS

Rice’s Department of Human Resources and the Administrative Career Training Program are offering a variety of professional development courses to faculty and staff this fall.

“Advantage Way High Impact Learning Managers’ Booster Session” will be offered nine times this academic year and will provide managers with the tools and skills needed to ensure the training their staff receives meets specific department goals. The first sessions will be offered Sept. 9 and Oct. 7.

“Interviewing: More Than a Gut Feeling” helps teach those involved in hiring for positions in their departments how to systematically interview job candidates. The first of three two-part sessions will be held Oct. 27 and 28.

Other classes include instruction on interpersonal effectiveness, listening skills and maintaining a proper work/life balance.
