Correction

In last week’s Rice News, the GIS/Data Center map and related article did not provide an accurate description of the geographic origin of the incoming class because statistics from some students were omitted. We regret the omission. For the record, the entering class includes students from 44 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., and the Virgin Islands, and 29 foreign countries. Forty-five percent of the incoming students are from Texas; 13 percent are foreign national students, and 87 percent are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
