Action! Student film contest offers cash prizes
Students who really want to document their life at Rice should start now to get the whole picture. It could put some cash in their pocket next summer.
The second annual student video contest, “Your Life at Rice,” is under way. Students are encouraged to create videos of five minutes or less that relate to the Rice experience, on campus or off.
There are prizes for first ($250), second ($150) and third place ($50), and additional $100 prizes for “special focus” entries that investigate such topics as wellness, civic engagement, the new residential colleges, sustainability and a host of others.
Entries must be submitted to Rice’s Digital Media Center, with the required release and entry forms completed by 5 p.m. March 26. The winners will be announced at a public viewing April 14.
