Tea time Chao Center brings Japanese tea ceremony to campus
This week the T.T.
and W.F. Chao Center for Asian Studies invited the Japanese Consulate General’s office to campus to present a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Representatives from the Higashi Aberyu, a Sencha school based on Zen teachings, gave a lecture and a demonstration of the ceremony, which is less formal than Western ceremonies and uses normal green leaf tea, not powdered tea.
