CORRUL launches scholarly network to examine race
President Barack Obama’s election last year led some to declare the United States had reached a “post-racial” reality. Rice’s Center on Race, Religion and Urban Life (CORRUL) is launching an interdisciplinary network of faculty and graduate students called Race Scholars at Rice to examine the relevance of race in America today.
Race Scholars at Rice will bring together scholars for whom race represents a core part of their intellectual interests and research agendas.
The group will hold an exploratory meeting Sept. 30 at 11:45 a.m. For more information, contact Meagan Alley at meagan@rice.edu.
