People, Papers and Presentations

An exhibit of paintings and drawings by Darra Keeton, associate professor of visual arts, titled “Darra Keeton: 1989-2009” will open Nov. 5 at The List Gallery at Swarthmore College in Philadelphia. She will present an artist’s talk at 4:30 p.m. that will be followed by a reception at 5:30 p.m. The show runs until Dec. 13.

Sallie Keller, the William and Stephanie Sick Dean of Engineering and professor of statistics in the George Brown School of Engineering, was honored by Iowa State University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with the John V. Atanasoff Research and Discovery Award. Keller received the award at an ISU Alumni Association ceremony Oct. 16. The award was established in 2005 to honor alumni of the college who have furthered scientific knowledge of the nation and the world, either through laboratory accomplishments and management.
