May 17 reception to honor Provost Eugene Levy

Members of the Rice community are invited to a reception honoring Provost Eugene Levy from 4 to 6 p.m. May 17 at Cohen House.

Levy announced last fall that he will step down from his position as the Howard Hughes Provost at the end of the academic year — exactly 10 years after his July 1, 2000, arrival at Rice.

Levy plans to take a one-year sabbatical and then return to Rice to teach in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and serve as a senior fellow for science policy and education at the Baker Institute for Public Policy.
